Description
The quintessence of a voluptuous and elegant Saint-Estèphe
The estate
Located in the north of Médoc, on the hill of Saint-Estèphe, Cos d’Estournel appears majestically. Like a true Maharajah's palace, the château and its pagodas surprise and captivate the eye. In 1791, Louis-Gaspard d’Estournel inherited hectares of vines and established the estate. An adventurer who traveled the world, his taste for exoticism and the Orient earned Château Cos d’Estournel its unique architecture in Médoc. Owned by Michel Reybier since 2000, Château Cos d’Estournel continues to shine among the great wines of Saint-Estèphe and joins the ranks of the world's greatest wines, distinguished by its unique style where the pursuit of beauty and excellence is a constant quest.
The vineyard
Enjoying an exceptional geographic location, this vineyard in Saint-Estèphe is situated on the edge of a plateau, in close proximity to the Gironde estuary. The vineyard benefits from a maritime climate, being sheltered from inclement weather. The vines are planted on two hillsides and a central plateau, enjoying an ideal exposure and good ventilation.
The vintage
After a year of low rainfall and without excessive heat, the harvest took place under exceptional weather conditions. The beautiful promises foretold were realized in the cellars.
Blend
Cabernet Sauvignon (78%)
Merlot (19%)
Cabernet Franc (3%).
