The estate
Located in the heart of the Pomerol appellation, Chateau Clinet, with its famous gravel plots, is one of the most beautiful references of the Pomerol appellation.

The vineyard
Chateau Clinet has an exceptional 10-hectare vineyard planted in a clay-gravelly soil.

The vintage
After a relatively mild winter, spring turned out to be cool. The month of June started with cool temperatures and was followed by a scorching heat. The generous summer temperatures allowed for a beautiful veraison of the vines, which were reinvigorated in September by a few rainy days and cool nights, yielding well-balanced fruit with a perfect maturity.

The winemaking

Green harvest from July 10 to 29. Manual harvest in crates from October 2 to 11. Plot harvest. Manual sorting. Light crushing. Thermo-regulated stainless steel tanks. Manual punch-downs. 27 days of fermentation.

The aging
16 months of aging. 75% in new French oak barrels. 25% in barrels of one previous wine.

The blend
Merlot (80%), cabernet sauvignon (20%).

The tasting
Tasted as a wine future, the Chateau Clinet 2019 reveals a deep garnet color. On the nose, the wine offers aromas of black fruit, like raspberries, blueberry and blackcurrant. Upon aeration, aromas of spices and pastries charm the nose. On the palate, the Chateau Clinet 2019 reveals a beautiful texture and powerful flavors. The lively energy of this great wine stretches forth on a rich and intense finish.
