Description
The property
Located on the banks of the Gironde, on the Left Bank of Bordeaux, Chateau Charmail has established itself as one of the finest references among the Crus Bourgeois Exceptionnel of Haut-Medoc.
The vineyard
Chateau Charmail reigns over an exceptional vineyard planted in clay-gravelly soils with 28.5 hectares of vines that extend until the river.
Vinification and aging
Following the harvest, the grapes were selected by densimetry. About 10 days of cold pre-fermentation maceration (5 °C), extraction at 18 degrees maximum. Aging lasted about 12 months in barrels of 500 liters (55% new oak) and in concrete eggs of 17 hectoliters.
The blend
The Chateau Charmail 2020 was made from a blend of Merlot (36%), Cabernet Sauvignon (32%), Cabernet Franc (16%) and Petit Verdot (16%).
The tasting
