The 2015 Canon-Pécresse is a Canon-Fronsac from very low yields (29hl/ha). It is a blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. These varietals were harvested from September 29th to September 30th. The mineral signature of this wine is recognizable and confirms the fact that the vineyard improves its precision and subtlety since it has wonderfully reproduced the characteristics of the calcareous soils that show on the surface of the property. It displays an inky-purple-tinted red colour. On the nose, the aromatic richness and freshness surprise; this wine is broad and complex. Blackcurrant, smashed blackberry and fresh liquorice are brought together, with a hint of graphite, signature of this cru. On the palate, the attack is dynamic on a solid acid structure conferring a great digestive quality to this wine. The tannic touch is sumptuous with creamy tannins. The retro-olfaction is fruity and the finish offers a sappy length. It is a straight, appealing and well-constructed wine.
