A classy and elegant red wine from Canon Fronsac

Coming from a prestigious terroir located in the heart of one Bordeaux’s hilliest appellations - Canon-Fronsac – the Chateau Canon Pecresse 2017 once again displays a qualitative excellence despite a particularly difficult year in the region of Libourne.

Expanding over a vineyard of 4.5 ha, Chateau Canon Pecresse is located in the geological extension of the Saint-Emilion plateau, on soils of limestone and deep clays. This rare terroir is at the heart of the deep, elegant wines that convey the unique personality of the appellation. Vintage after vintage, Chateau Canon Pecresse has maintained an elegant style, originally designed in 2011 by Stephane Derenoncourt, one of the most important and sought-after French wine consultants.

An environmentally friendly property, Chateau Canon Pecresse is in the midst of conversion to organic conversion, and has held the Ecocert certification since 2017.

The Chateau Canon Pecresse 2017 expresses the pure essence of its terroir with a blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. Despite a challenging vintage, the Canon Fronsac appellation performed particularly well during the Wine Futures campaign, demonstrating a consistently high quality. The Chateau Canon Pecresse 2017 promises to be a wine true to the style of this property, which has become a reference in Canon-Fronsac. Fruity in profile, with a pleasant intensity of aromas, the Chateau Canon Pecresse 2017 is balanced, displaying a beautiful texture and great potential for age.

    Wine Advocate-Parker :
The 2017 Canon Pécresse is deep garnet-purple in color and has a very earthy nose with tar, black soil and underbrush notions over a cassis and blackberry core. The palate is medium-bodied with firm, grippy tannins and plenty of freshness to lift the good density of black fruit, finishing savory.
