Description
A Second Wine of Pomerol combining refinement and smoothness
The estate
Gradually built up by the Léglise family, originally from Libourne, around the middle of the 18th century, Château L'Évangile was quickly regarded as a “Premier Cru du Haut-Pomerol”. After being owned by the Ducasse family, it was in 1990 that Domaines Barons de Rothschild Lafite acquired the property, eager to bring the estate to its full potential. From vineyard to cellar, Château L'Évangile has undergone major restructuring and modernization, allowing the estate to shine among the finest references of the Pomerol appellation.
The vineyard
Château L'Évangile is a Pomerol wine made from a vineyard in a privileged location between Château Pétrus to the north and Château Cheval Blanc to the south. The vineyard is planted on sandy-clay soils with pure gravel, resting on a subsoil made up of the famous iron-rich crasses de fer.
The wine
Blason de l'Évangile is the estate's Second Wine.
Blend
This Blason de l'Évangile 2023 is a blend of Merlot (95%) and Cabernet Franc (5%).
