Description
The estate
Located at the gates of Pauillac, Château Lynch-Bages is an estate that has left its mark on the history of the Médoc. Although the terroir of Bages has been known since the 16th century, it was not until the 18th century that it gained renown. Headed by the son of an Irish citizen by the name of Thomas Lynch, Bages was recognised at the Universal Exhibition in Paris. Acquired by the J-M Cazes family on the eve of the Second World War, Château Lynch-Bages is one of the finest references in the Pauillac appellation.
The vineyard
Blanc de Lynch-Bages is a Bordeaux dry white wine that stems from a terroir of 7 hectares planted on soils of Garonne gravel.
The vintage
This year was marked by extreme weather conditions, from a cold winter to a hot, dry summer. However, the vines were able to adapt and produce an exceptional vintage. The growth cycle was early throughout the year. The grapes obtained are at an optimum level of ripeness.
Winemaking and ageing
Harvested by hand with sorting in the vineyard and on the table. The wine is aged for 6 months in barrels (50% new wood), on its lees.
Blend
Blanc de Lynch-Bages 2022 stems from a blend of Sauvignon Blanc (67%), Sémillon (22%) and Muscadelle (11%)
