The IGT Terre Siciliane appellation is proof of this. The creation of this appellation has allowed to value the stylistic freedom of the winegrowers by guaranteeing the exceptional quality of these Sicilian wines. Covering nearly 33,000 hectares of vineyards throughout Sicily, the IGT Terre Siciliane is the largest production area in Sicily.

The wines of the IGT Terre Siciliane can be made still or sparkling, white, red or rosé; the creativity of the producers is honoured. IGT Terre Siciliane highlights both grapes local to the island and from other parts of the world. The best known are Perricone, Zibibbo and Nerello Mascalese. Grillo and Nero d'Avola are the two most emblematic, and are subject to the DOC Sicilia designation.
