Domaine Saint Prefert Wines : Key Points

Created in 1920, Saint Préfert is one of the most renowned estates in the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation.

Located south of the village of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, this Rhône Valley estate was taken over in 2003 by Isabel Ferrando. Then a senior executive in the bank, Isabel Ferrando decided in 1997 to retrain and began studying in Carpentras, her hometown, to become a winegrower.

Passionate about her region and its terroir, it is within the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation that Isabel Ferrando carries out rigorous and innovative work on the massal selection of certain grape varieties of the estate: Clairette, Cinsault, Mourvèdre and Grenache.

Conducted in organic and biodynamic agriculture, the vineyard of the Saint Préfert estate is the subject of particular attention given to the work of the soil, mainly composed of rolled pebbles and gravel.

Through this meticulous work both in the vineyard and in vinification, the Saint Préfert estate produces exceptional wines served on the best tables and recognised by many international critics.
