Description

The complexity and refinement of a Willamette Valley wine

The estate

The Nicolas Jay winery sprang from the friendship between Jean-Nicolas Méo, a Burgundian winemaker and Jay Boberg, an American music producer.

Located in the heart of the North Willamette Valley in Oregon, the estate tends to a terroir composed mainly of old vines. Moreover, relationships with partner winegrowers, who farm their vineyards organically and biodynamically, ensure the supply of high-quality grapes.

The vineyard

Nicolas Jay's 2016 Pinot Noir is a Willamette Valley wine made from a rigorous selection of vineyards in the northwestern part of the Oregon wine region.

The blend

Pinot Noir (100%).

Nicolas Jay's 2016 Willamette Valley Pinot Noir: Characteristics and tasting tips

The tasting

Nose

The nose blends fruity (black cherry, plum) and floral (violet) fragrances with notes of dried grass and bay leaf.

Palate

A lively attack, sustained by a beautiful acidity, precedes a slightly saline palate that exudes intense aromas of red fruits and aromatic herbs.

Cellaring

This Oregon red wine can be cellared until around 2031.
