Description
Elegant and Complex Pinot Noir from Willamette Valley
Famed Burgundian winemaker Jean Nicolas Meo and music entrepreneur Jay Boberg first met in 1988 and immediately bonded over their shared philosophy of life, music and wine. Fast forward to 2011, the two founded Nicolas-Jay to pursue their lifelong passion for wine. The winery works with organically grown grapes from vineyards across Willamette Valley to produce exclusively Pinot Noir.
This wine is an expressive and beautifully balanced. It is bursting with black cherry aromas with a hint of violet and blackcurrant. The palate is bright and juicy with notes of minerality, acidity and an earthy tone. The fruit comes from almost every AVA in Willamette Valley, which adds more layers and complexities from the different terroir. The wine is aged in mostly neutral oak but it sees a touch of new oak to add a bit of density and elegance to the palate. It has a nice structure, smooth tannins and a strong yet refined finish. Open now and decant for a bit or age in your cellar for a decade and this wine will transform into something magical.
