The pure expression of a great Alsace terroir by Maison Trimbach

The estate

Founded in 1626 by Jean Trimbach, the Maison Trimbach is a true institution in Alsace. Based in Ribeauvillé, this historic estate oversees 65 hectares of its own vineyards. Internationally recognized as a prestigious brand, the estate stands out for its pure and traditional style. Following the passing of the iconic winemaker Pierre Trimbach, the estate is now run by Jean, Anne, Frédérique, Pauline, and Julien Trimbach, who passionately uphold the excellence of this family lineage through structured and elegant wines.

The vineyard

The grapes come from the prestigious grand cru terroirs of Geisberg and Osterberg, located around Ribeauvillé in Alsace. These plots benefit from optimal south and southeast exposure along the Ribeauvillé geological fault. The vines, averaging 45 years of age, thrive on complex soils composed of shell limestone, marl, and sandstone, cultivated according to organic farming principles to limit yields and concentrate aromas.

Winemaking and aging

To craft the Riesling "Cuvée Frédéric Emile" 2008, the grapes are harvested by hand at a late stage to achieve perfect ripeness. Pressing is carried out very gently using a pneumatic press. Fermentation then takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks over three to four weeks. The wine is vinified completely dry, without any oak barrel aging. It is bottled early and then aged in the cellar for several years before release.
