Description
The balance of a great fruity and complex Pessac-Léognan
Second wine of the Grand Cru Classé de Graves, Chateau Malartic-Lagraviere, La Reserve de Malartic rouge 2017 has the nobility and complexity of a great Pessac-Leognan.
Located in the south of the Bordeaux, Chateau Malartic-Lagraviere looks after an exceptional vineyard very well situated on a superb gravelly hillside.
While the year 2017 will be remembered for the frost at the end of April that hit the Bordeaux vineyards, the fine weather conditions that followed enabled us to start the harvest with beautifully ripe grapes.
The 2017 harvest is less important than usual, but it nevertheless rewards the precision work and the constant attention paid by the technical teams at Château Malartic-Lagravière, advised by the talented oenologist-consultant Michel Rolland.
The result of a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon(50%), Merlot (45%) and Cabernet Franc (5%), La Reserve de Malartic rouge 2017 triumphs over the challenges of this vintage in a sublime wine of aromatic depth and complexity.
La Reserve de Malartic rouge 2017 was vinified in small truncated cone-shaped wooden and stainless steel vats for 28 to 30 days. Maturing lasts about 15 months in French oak barrels.
On tasting, the expression of La Reserve de Malartic rouge 2017 seduces by its aromatic depth and the purity of the fruit. On the palate, the mouth evolves with freshness and structure on a weft of ripe and coated tannins displaying a deliciously velvety texture. A magnificent Pessac-Leognan signed Malartic-Lagraviere, balanced and complex.
