This has a seductive feel, with velvety plum and raspberry compote notes stretching from start to finish while light floral, anise and applewood accents chime in and out. Nice integration through the finish. Best from 2022 through 2032. 6,250 cases made.

Dense and rich second wine of Nenin with dark berries, chocolate and hazelnuts. Full-bodied, with round, chewy yet polished tannins and a finished feel. Needs two or three years to soften, at least. Try after 2023.

The 2016 Fugue de Nénin is pretty and lifted, with lovely aromatic presence from the 21% Cabernet Franc in the blend. Bright floral and savory notes lift the red berry fruit nicely in this mid-weight, attractive second wine from Nénin.

This elegant, medium-bodied, impressively balanced 2016 has a fleshy, forward style as well as classic damp earth, lead pencil, cedar, and tobacco aromas and flavors. It’s a delicious, easy-drinking wine that’s going to deliver ample pleasure over the coming decade.

Great charm on the nose with deep black fruit and floral delicacy; the tannins are seductive with lovely polish and a tasty freshness—a fine success. The higher proportion of Cabernet Franc gives the cru greater backbone.
