    An expressive Pomerol red wine

Chateau La Connivence's second wine, La Belle Connivence, is produced on a total area of 1.14 hectares in the Pomerol appellation. The blend for the 2012 vintage is 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. The vines benefit from a rich terroir of clay and gravel.

The Belle Connivence 2012 has a lot of freshness on the nose with cherry, raspberry and blackcurrant fragrances. There are also slight oaky notes. On the palate, the wine has great depth, elegance, smoothness, length and finesse with fruity flavors and perfectly integrated tannins.

    Wine Advocate-Parker :
Tasted blind at the Southwold Bordeaux tasting. The 2012 La Connivence (a micro-cuvée co-owned by former French soccer players) has quite a plush bouquet: floral with redcurrant and strawberry preserve, a hint of sous-bois, gaining more and more intensity with time. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin. Tart cherry fruit on the entry and crisp acidity, a little foursquare but with commendable depth on the glossy finish. Not bad at all considering this is a Pomerol arriviste! Tasted January 2016.
