Also shows a fruity, full-bodied, even fiery character, yet it has class; a characterful Domaine de Chevalier that already delights and doesn’t need to age forever.

Plump and with good underlying juiciness, this lets white peach, lemon peel and fleur de sel notes move through at a steady pace, featuring flashes of acacia and brioche on the finish. Understated and nicely done for the vintage. Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon. Drink now through 2028. 2,000 cases made.

Very pretty with lovely apple, cream, lavender, pineapple and light honey. Full-bodied, yet creamy and refined, with great length and polish. Fresh acidity, but the finish is polished and pretty. Subtle. 70% sauvignon blanc and 30% semillon. Drink in 2024.

Green apple, yellow citrus, honeysuckle, and a tropical orange note with a hint of white peach shine through on the nose and on the fresh, creamy, lively palate. The finish lingers with endnotes of lemon, lime, vanilla, rocks, and stones. This is already a treat to taste, but wait a few years and it’s going to be even better, as Domaine de Chevalier is one of the longest-lived white wines from Bordeaux. Drink from 2023–2040.

Light greenish yellow with silver reflections. Delicate notes of coconut and lanolin, yellow tropical fruit and mandarin zest make for an inviting bouquet. Medium complexity on the palate with a subtle fruit sweetness. It's elegant and freshly structured, with a hint of blossom honey on the finish. A balanced food companion.

Flinty and stony with good layers of very discreet oak, fresh peach, mango and tropical yet fresh fruit. Ample and concentrated with exuberant fruit and a nicely firm fresh backbone, good extract, perfect oak integration and a very long almost saline finish. Great precision.

I loved the 2019 Domaine De Chevalier Blanc, which has the crisp, racy, yet concentrated style of the estate that few others can achieve. Gorgeous white peach, mandarin orange, honeyed minerality, and a kiss of toast all define the bouquet, and it hits the palate with medium- to full-bodied richness, integrated acidity, plenty of concentration, and a great finish that picks up some obvious minerality. This stunning juice needs 3–4 years of bottle age and will evolve for 2–3 decades if stored correctly. It’s probably the white of the vintage.

70% Sauvignon, 30% Sémillon. Pale yellow with linden-green highlights. Bewitching bouquet with delicate pear aromas, followed by a refined flinty note and grapefruit. On the second nose, citrus and lemongrass. On the juicy palate, wonderful drive and a mineral core; everything is in balance, the mineral structure sets the tone, with the fruit lining up behind. In the focused finish, yellow fruits, white blossoms, and delicate graphite notes. “If you understand white wine, then you understand the 2019 vintage,” is Olivier Bernard’s simple explanation. For me, together with Smith-Haut-Lafitte, the top duo in Pessac-Léognan.

Takes its time, even on the aromatics, to open and expand. Such a confident white wine, with proven ageing ability, able to stand among the great whites of France. There is clear anise and fennel on the attack, white pepper spice, everything well defined and controlled, with white pear and fleshy citrus keeping things lifted and moving forward. Great stuff. 35% new oak.

The 2019 Domaine de Chevalier Blanc is a blend of 70% Sauvignon Blanc and 30% Semillon. Subtle notes of cedar and juicy peaches slowly emerge from the nose, followed by Golden Delicious apples and grapefruit oil at the core. The medium-bodied palate quivers with energy and tension, leading to a steely finish.

A teasing, vanilla-tinged nose with generous aromas of lemon panna cotta and candied lemon, highlighted by notes of peach blossom and lime blossom. On the palate, very fragrant floral notes bring plenty of style and complexity. A wine intense in flavor and acidity, promising a long life, both on the palate and in the bottle.

Complex by nature, Domaine de Chevalier handles all the protagonists of its bouquet well. The oak ageing is present yet well framed by citrus, lemongrass, and flinty notes. The saline attack immediately brings freshness, while the creamy texture provides breadth. An elegant, expressive wine with a persistent, refreshing finish.

Logo on the cork: DIAM30 Pale color. Intense, delicate nose, fruity, pure, subtle and noble. A touch of pear and peach. Delicate on entry, very aromatic mid-palate, with a rich, silky body and plenty of flavor; the wine finishes long and sappy with a touch of tannin. Good length. It’s very good!

96–98. Barrel Sample. This legendary wine, always made in small quantities, is once again impressive. The balance of white fruit, citrus fruits and oak tones is already just right, indicating how well it will develop in barrel and bottle. The wine's long life is assured.
