Description
A red wine from Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux with a beautiful acidity
The Cuvée Compostelle of Château Côte Montpezat is a red wine produced in the appellation of Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux. 35 to 40 years old on average, the vineyard of 29 hectares enjoys a terroir consisting of clay and limestone soils. The aging of the wine is carried out for 12 months, half in new barrels and half in vats. The 2016 vintage blends 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc.
At tasting, the Cuvée Compostelle 2016 of the Château Côte Montpezat reveals a pretty, dark ruby color. The nose reveals complex aromas of black fruits (blackcurrant), along with vanilla and chocolate fragrances. On the palate, the acidity is superb and the tannins are silky and fruity. Wonderful length. The woodiness, resulting from production, is present but develops superbly in barrel.
