The Guide Feret, a prominent book on Bordeaux wines since 1868, described Puy Arnaud in 1898 as producing "one of the most sought-after wines in the region".

Acquired in 2000 by Thierry Valette, member of the board of directors of Chateau Pavie since 1979, Clos Puy Arnaud earned an Organic Farming (AB) and Biodynamic Farming (Demeter and Biodyvin) cerfiticate in 2005.

The Clos Puy Arnaud watches over a 15-hectare vineyard and leases a 3-hectare vineyard in the Libourne region. The vineyard is planted with Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon vines and is completed with a massal selection of grape varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Mancin, Sastets and Sauvignon Blanc.

Thierry Valette's passion and rigor, both regarding the management of the vineyard, situated at an altitude of 90 to 100 metres and resting on clay-limestone soils, and the attention provided to each stage of the vinification process, give rise to Castillon Cotes de Bordeaux wines that are renowned for their elegance, freshness and minerality.
