From 7ha of vines. There is a clear freshness and vivacity to the fruit, although it leans a little too much to the savoury side of the spectrum, with redcurrant and fresh herbs playing against richer cherry and damson. There’s a lot to like here, with juiciness through the mid-palate, but it finishes short. Aged in 30% new oak.

The nose is fruity, racy, and offers fine minerality as well as elegance. It reveals notes of wild blackberry, blackcurrant, and racy minerality, combined with small touches of strawberry, cardamom, Cubeb pepper, and sweet spices, along with a very discreet hint of flowers (lilac, lily). The palate is fruity, balanced, racy, very finely tight, and offers good definition, a fine mineral thread, subtle smoothness, a touch of freshness, good structure, and a slight tension. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of fleshy blackberry, crushed blackcurrant, and small notes of fleshy/crushed redcurrant, combined with small touches of racy minerality, chocolate, spices, and a very discreet hint of flowers (lilac, lily).

Light red color. Fruity nose. Soft, fruity, light, and aromatic palate. Medium body and length.

89–91. Barrel Sample. This is a dense, serious wine with concentrated tannins, very much in the old style of Saint-Estèphe. It needs time for the fruit to balance with those tannins and produce a rich, structured wine. Drink from 2024.
