Chateau Rouget 18-hectare vineyard grows vines averaging 40 years old on gravel-clay soils. The 2012 Chateau Rouget is a subtle blend of 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc produced in the Pomerol appellation.
The wine displays intense purple-tinted ruby colour. The expressive nose exudes red and black fruit notes as well as pleasant, elegant vanilla and spices. The 2012 Chateau Rouget is rich and structured, with plum, currant, blackberry, and chocolate. The very long finish carries ripe and silky tannins as well as spicy notes and toasted hints.
