A balanced Pomerol red wine

Produced on a total area of 18 hectares in the Pomerol appellation, Chateau Rouget has the benefit of a rich terroir with clay-gravel soils and vines with an average age of 40. The vines are 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc.

At tasting, the Chateau Rouget presents a magnificent garnet red color. The nose exudes expressive and refined scents. On the palate, the wine is elegant with a sublime texture that balances between the velvetiness of Merlot and the minerality of Cabernet Franc, and accompanied by delicate and silky tannins. A beautifully concentrated wine with a lovely balance between freshness and maturity. A wine that can be kept until 2030.

Wine Advocate-Parker :
An absolutely stunning example from this up-and-coming estate, which has been performing on all cylinders of late, the 2010 Rouget has a dense plum/purple color, a beautifully sweet, expansive nose of spice box and a touch of toasty oak as well as copious quantities of black currants, cherries and plum. Supple and full-bodied, with a powerful mouthfeel and a hint of graphite, this is a deep rich, full-throttle, very sexy and opulent Rouget to drink over the next 15 or more years.
