Appearance
The color is a beautiful ruby hue.

Nose
The nose exudes fragrances of fruit in brandy and cocoa.

A generous attack precedes a round palate with delicious aromas of stone fruit, spices, and blond tobacco. 

A fresh Bordeaux red wine with beautiful complexity

The Estate

Built in 1782 on the right bank of Bordeaux and initially owned by wine merchant Bernard Chénier, Château Marjosse was acquired by the Deleuze family, who leased a few plots to Pierre Lurton in 1990.

In 1992, Pierre Lurton, who grew up at the neighboring Château Reynier of this magnificent Chartreuse, moved into a secondary residence at Château Marjosse and, over the years, gradually purchased several parcels of the Deleuze family's property.

In 2000, Pierre Lurton built an ultramodern cellar containing more than 40 concrete vats, and in 2013 became the owner of the entire vineyard as well as the Chartreuse.

The Vineyard

The vineyard of Château Marjosse spans 40 hectares. Located on exceptional clay-limestone soils, this terroir is made up of both young and old vines, some of which are over a hundred years old. The vineyard features several grape varieties, including Merlot, Malbec, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon for the Château Marjosse red, as well as Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc, Sauvignon Gris, and Muscadelle for the Château Marjosse white.

The Wine

Through its range of cuvées—"Charmille," "Canton du Loup," and "Truffiers"—the estate showcases, like a palette of colors, the nuances and identity of its mosaic of terroirs, climats, and soils through Merlot, the signature grape variety of the right bank.

The uniqueness of "Canton du Loup" lies in its limestone terroir from Tizac de Curton. These vineyards, composed of iron-rich red clay, give the wine freshness, concentration, and smoothness.

Winemaking and Aging

In 2017, Pierre Lurton hired Jean-Marc Domme as technical director. For the first time in the estate's history, Pierre Lurton introduced parcel-by-parcel vinification and the creation of limited-quantity micro-cuvées from grapes grown on the most remarkable plots, in order to express the characteristics and microclimate of each one.

This Bordeaux wine benefits from 18 months of aging exclusively in new barrels.
