Description

With the year-effect, the exceptional 2015 yielded well-matured grapes; the harvest occurred from September 23 to October 12th (65% Merlot and 35% Cabernet-Sauvignon) and consequently 2015 Lespault-Martillac is nicely concentrated (the grape berries were small). This wine has good balance, real aromatic freshness and a respectable density on the palate. The inky purple-tinted red colour gives way to good aromatic expression of red berries with seducing fragrances. This Pessac-Leognan swirling reveals the wine energy and freshness. The attack is pleasant on acidity that almost seems nervous. The mid-palate offers strong wine, with a dominant of fruits that are filled with smooth and very elegant tannins. The fruity and mineral retro-olfaction (signature of the deep soil gravels) confirms the generosity and gustatory vibrancy of this wine. The 2015 Lespault-Martillac is a great success: it is solid and logically built. This Pessac-Leognan is a generous, promising young wine with a good ageing potential.
