Château Le Crock 2024

Deep ruby in hue, Le Crock 2024 shows a vibrant bouquet of blood orange zest, smoky undertones, and dark fruits. On the palate, it offers a round and creamy texture, with polished, almost imperceptible tannins. While the mid-palate might lack some depth, the wine compensates with a fresh, citrusy finish and subtle bitterness. Overall, it presents an elegant and classic profile, though slightly austere at the moment, expressing the quintessence of Saint-Estèphe. 5% Petit Verdot completes the blend.

43% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Franc, 5% Petit Verdot. 16.72 hl/ha. Cask sample. Light and fresh, with prominent acidity and a slightly hollow mid-palate. Sharp and angular on the finish. (JL)

Flowers, garrigue, tobacco, and currants define the character here. Medium-bodied, quite fresh and vibrant, the forward, soft-textured palate finishes with crisp, chewy, peppery red berries. The wine blends 43% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Petit Verdot. 13% ABV. Drink from 2027–2038. 89–91 pts

A floral, delicate nose with fresh red and purple fruits. On the palate, the texture is exquisitely soft, as caressing as a newborn’s hair. The mouthfeel is supple and easy to drink, leaving a delectable chocolate note on the finish.

Sage and white pepper spice, bright fruits, carefully balanced, leans into the vintage. Harvest 27 September to 7 October. 3.70 pH. Yield 16.72 hl/ha, the lowest ever after hail. They were on third year of organic conversion but chose to suspend this year. No second wine as a result also - they just really focused on the best of what remained. 30% new oak for ageing, in 500l casks, and amphora.

Deep, intense color. Very aromatic nose, pure, fruity and slightly vanilla. Delicate on the attack, suave on the mid-palate, with flavor and a slender body, the wine develops with precision on fine, fragrant tannins. Normal length. Blend: 43% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Franc, 5% Petit Verdot. Alcohol content: 13° - pH: 3.70 – IPT: 58.
