Description
The intensity and finesse of a Saint-Julien wine
The estate
Château Langoa Barton is an 1855 Third Cru Classé in the Saint-Julien appellation on the left bank of Bordeaux. The property was acquired in 1821 by the influential trading company Barton & Gustier, already experienced in the production of wine from the area surrounding Château Léoville Barton, acquired by this same family in 1826. Today, the Barton family remains at the helm of the property.
The vineyard
Château Langoa Barton 2021 is a Saint-Julien wine made from a 20-hectare vineyard. The vines are 35 years old on average and are planted on a gravel soil resting upon a clay subsoil.
The wine
For the 2021 vintage, the bottles of Château Langoa Barton are adorned with a label that celebrates the 200th anniversary since the acquisition of the property by the Barton family.
Winemaking and ageing
Aged exclusively in barrels, 60% of which were new.
Blend
Château Langoa Barton 2021 comprises a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (61%), Merlot (36%) and Cabernet Franc (3%)
