The estate
Chateau Langoa Barton is an 1855 Classified Third Growth in the Saint-Julien appellation on the left bank of Bordeaux. The property was acquired in 1821 by the influential trading company Barton & Gustier, already experienced in the production of wine from the area surrounding Chateau Leoville Barton, acquired by this same family in 1826. Today, the Barton family remains at the helm of the property.
The vineyard
Chateau Langoa Barton 2021 is a Saint-Julien wine made from a 20-hectare vineyard. The vines are 35 years old on average and are planted on a gravel soil resting upon a clay subsoil.
The wine
For the 2021 vintage, the bottles of Chateau Langoa Barton are adorned with a label that celebrates the 200th anniversary since the acquisition of the property by the Barton family.
Vinification and aging
Aged exclusively in barrels, 60% of which are new.
The blend
Chateau Langoa Barton 2021 comprises a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (61%), Merlot (36%) and Cabernet Franc (3%)
