Description
The magnificent delicatesse of a fine red wine from Saint-Julien
The estate
Chateau Langoa Barton is a Third Classified Growth of 1855 in the Saint-Julien appellation on the left bank of Bordeaux. The property was acquired in 1821 by the influential trading company Barton & Gustier, already experienced in the production of wine from this area at Chateau Leoville Barton, acquired by this same family in 1826. Today the Barton family remains at the helm of the property.
The vineyard
The 20 hectares of productive vineyard at Chateau Langoa Barton are planted in gravel soils with clay subsoils. Harvest took place from September 21 to 26, then from September 30 to October 8.
The blend
Cabernet sauvignon (67%), merlot (26%), cabernet franc (7%)
The tasting
The Chateau Langoa Barton 2019 reveals an expressive nose of fresh red fruit. It is a wine of great concentration. The tannins express an extraordinary finesse and delicatesse. The palate ends in a long finish, leaving behind an impression of freshness and good acidity.
