Description

The exquisite charm of a perfectly balanced Saint-Julien

A well-known property of the prestigious Saint-Julien appellation on the Left Bank of the Bordeaux region, Château Lalande-Borie is known by wine lovers for its exquisite wines, which display all of the typical characteristics of their appellation.

Although the estate suffered severely from episodes of frost at the end of April, with almost 50% of the vineyard affected, the Chateau Lalande-Borie 2017 is proving to be very charming. The climatic conditions that followed the frost enabled the second-generation vines to reach optimum maturity with an excellent phenolic potential displayed in the fruit, which by the time of harvest showed excellent health and a high concentration of anthocyanins.

With its blend dominated by Merlot (66%) complemented by Cabernet Sauvignon (34%), the Chateau Lalande-Borie 2017 seduces with the pure fruity freshness of its aromatic bouquet, which reveals rich fragrances of small red fruits. On the palate, the wine displays a generous personality, with a dense texture, a very well-rounded mouthfeel on a solid structure of ripe, smooth tannins. The lingering length of the finish ends in elegance and finesse. A great Saint-Julien wine that will evolve nicely over the coming years.
