The estate
In the heart of the Pomerol plateau, on Bordeaux’s Right Bank, Château La Violette takes its name from the characteristic aromas that emanate from the bouquet of its wines.
The vineyard
Château La Violette 2022 is a Pomerol wine produced from an exceptional vineyard of 1.68 hectares, including 1.26 hectares in production, located on the plateau of the appellation. The vines are an average of 40 years old and are planted on a terroir of fine gravel.
The vintage
A cold winter with high rainfall preceded a spring with relatively high temperatures, advancing very early budburst from 30 March. The frosts that hit between 1st and 10th April had little impact on the vineyards, thanks to the fact that many buds were still protected. Flowering was rapid. The summer was hot and particularly dry, with thunderstorms accelerating the ripening of the grapes. Despite low yields, the grapes harvested were of high quality.
Winemaking and ageing
The grapes are harvested in crates and destemmed by hand. Micro-vinification carried out exclusively in new barrels. Pre-fermentation maceration at 6°C for 12 days. Malolactic fermentation in new barrels and ageing for 16 months.

Château La Violette 2022 is a 100% Merlot.
