Description

A delicate and smooth red wine from Pomerol

The estate

It was from 1938 that Louis Rapin acquired vineyards in the Montagne Saint-Émilion and Saint-Émilion appellations, including Château La Tour Figeac. Following the acquisition of various vineyard plots in 1961, Louis Rapin renamed the whole Château La Rose Figeac. This Pomerol cru, located on the right bank of Bordeaux, has been managed by Nathalie Despagne since 2013. Upon her arrival, Nathalie Despagne undertook numerous works to allow Château La Rose Figeac to shine in the Pomerol appellation.

The vineyard

Managed by Nathalie Despagne since 2013, Château La Rose Figeac is one of the very beautiful references of the Pomerol appellation, on the Right Bank of Bordeaux.

From then on, Château La Rose Figeac underwent numerous renovations to equip it with the best infrastructures in the cellar. The estate, located in the southeast of the Pomerol appellation, oversees a vineyard of 4.56 hectares with vines planted on a sandy-gravelly terroir. The cru has been run in organic farming certified by Ecocert since 2009.

Vinification and aging

The aging is carried out in barrels (of which 60% are new and 40% of one wine), as well as 30 hl in 500-liter barrels.

Blend

85% merlot and 15% cabernet franc.
