Made from a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, the Chateau L'Arrosee (named after an underground spring not far from the chateau) is a Grand Cru Classe in the Saint-Emilion appellation, whose total production area is over 9 hectares.
The 1998 Chateau L'Arrosee has ripe red cherry and toasted oak aromas on the nose. On the palate, this is a delicate, medium-bodied wine. Best to drink now.
Scents of overripe red cherries, along with a boatload of toasty new oak are present in this delicate, lacy, medium-bodied St.-Emilion. A 90-point nose is followed by 82-point flavors, hence the score. This 1998 should drink well for 12-14 years.
