The elegance of a great white Pessac-Léognan wine by Château Haut-Brion
The estate
Located in the Bordeaux region, Château Haut-Brion boasts a fascinating history, with the official creation of the estate by Jean de Pontac dating back to 1525, followed by the construction of the château in 1549. This prestigious 51-hectare vineyard is the only Graves property to have been awarded Premier Grand Cru Classé status in 1855. Today, the estate is led by Prince Robert of Luxembourg, representing the Dillon family. A true mark of excellence, the property produces world-renowned wines, embodying the very essence of its exceptional terroir.
The vineyard
Within the Pessac-Léognan appellation, the area dedicated to white grapes covers 3 hectares. The vines thrive on a terroir composed of deep quartz gravel deposits, resting on a subsoil blending earth, sand, limestone and shelly sand. This geological composition ensures perfect drainage and allows deep root penetration, guaranteeing the optimal health of the vines.
The vintage
The 2025 vintage was marked by a summer drought that slowed the vegetative cycle, requiring great patience. The harvest, which began on 14 August, ranks among the earliest in the estate's history. The September rains proved a blessing for these rare and small-sized grapes. Rigorous sorting made it possible to set aside berries damaged by the sun, yielding a crop of optimal concentration and ripeness.
Winemaking and ageing
The ageing of this Château Haut-Brion Blanc 2025 is carried out using 45% new barrels, which brings woody nuances perfectly integrated into the wine. Alcohol content: 14.55% vol.
Grape varieties
53% Sauvignon Blanc and 47% Sémillon
