Vinum

Noticeably shaped by the élevage, pronounced barrique notes, dark chocolate, roasted espresso over dark fruit; dense palate, again with oak, featuring fine tannins; medium length. A bit too much oak “make‑up,” but of good quality.

Flowers, chocolate, and fruit combine in the perfume. The medium-bodied palate is soft, supple, and packed with sweet, ripe, juicy, chocolatey black plums, and dark cherries. The lushly textured finish continues with notes of ripe berries and touches of cocoa in the endnote. The wine blends 90% Merlot, with 10% Cabernet Franc. Drink from 2027-2045. 92-94 Pts

Vertdevin

The nose is fruity, offering a touch of freshness and a slightly grilled to roasted character. It reveals notes of toasted bread, fleshy blackcurrant, and, more subtly, cornflower, combined with hints of lilac and fine touches of nutmeg. The palate is mineral and fresh, delivering energy, a light fluidity, a tangy backbone, and fine concentration within its finely firm structure. On the palate, this wine shows notes of juicy/fresh blackberry, juicy/fresh blackcurrant, and, more delicately, cherry, combined with hints of lilac and violet, as well as touches of bergamot and roast nuances.

Description

A Pomerol wine with complex aromas and a refined texture

The estate
Created in 1825, Château Feytit-Clinet thrives on 6.5 hectares of the western plateau of Pomerol in Bordeaux. A family property of the Chasseuil family since 2000, the estate benefits from the leadership of Jérémy Chasseuil who has transformed it since 1999. This renaissance has propelled Feytit-Clinet among the benchmark estates of the Pomerol appellation.

The vineyard
The vineyard of Château Feytit-Clinet spans 6.32 hectares in the Pomerol appellation. The vines, averaging 34 years of age, flourish on gravelly soils and gravel over clay. This geological composition gives the terroir a distinctive identity, enhancing the expression of Merlot and Cabernet Franc that make up the estate’s plantings.

Vinification and aging
Cold pre-fermentation maceration for 3 days at 10 °C in rectangular concrete vats. Total maceration, including fermentation, lasts 3 to 4 weeks. Malolactic fermentation takes place directly in barrels, followed by 2 months on the lees. Aging then continues for 15 months in barrels, with 65 % new oak and 35 % once-used barrels.

Blend
The blend of Château Feytit-Clinet 2024 consists of 88 % Merlot and 12 % Cabernet Franc.
