Francoise and Henri Lévêque acquired the first plots of Château de Chantegrive in the commune of Podensac, south of Bordeaux, in 1966. Forty-five years later, Chantegrive now has 96 hectares of vines and has become one of the most important and prestigious estates in the Graves appellation. Combining modern techniques with traditional viticultural and winemaking methods, Château de Chantegrive has state-of-the-art equipment to produce wine that regularly receives medals at international competitions. Château de Chantegrive has gone from strength to strength, and the new generation of the Lévêque family is closely involved in managing the estate. Since 2006, they are assisted by Hubert de Boöard de Laforest, owner of Château Angélus in Saint-Émilion. The wine is marketed via brokers to the Bordeaux négociants, who export 40% of total production.
