Description
A collector's box from a reference of Saint-Estèphe
The estate
Located in the north of the Médoc, on the hill of Saint-Estèphe, the Château Cos d’Estournel appears majestically. Like a true Maharajah's palace, the chateau and its pagodas surprise and captivate the eye. In 1791, Louis-Gaspard d’Estournel inherited hectares of vineyards and built the estate. An adventurer who had traveled the world, his taste for exoticism and the Orient gave Château Cos d’Estournel its unique architecture in the Médoc. Owned by Michel Reybier since 2000, Château Cos d’Estournel continues to shine in the Saint-Estèphe appellation and joins the lineage of the world's greatest wines, distinguishing itself by its unique style where the taste for beauty and excellence is a constant quest.
The vineyard
A reference among the great wines of Saint-Estèphe, Château Cos d’Estournel enjoys an exceptional geographical location. Indeed, its vineyard is located on the edge of a plateau, in the immediate vicinity of the Gironde estuary. The vineyard thus benefits from a maritime climate while being protected from bad weather. The vines are planted on two slopes and a central plateau, benefiting from an ideal exposure and good ventilation.
The case
The Collection 14th Anniversary Limited Edition box is an elegant set of 3 bottles, made from Paulownia wood, known for its lightness, robustness and ecological dimension (it absorbs up to 10 times more CO2 than an ordinary tree and generates 4 times more oxygen). Easily stackable, it also offers an elegant and harmonious collection effect.
The wines
A true tribute to the 2010 vintage, this case includes three bottles of Cos d'Estournel 2010 that have benefited from 14 years of evolution in the bottle within the Château. Having reached maturity, these bottles are now in their first optimal tasting phase; they can thus be tasted now after decanting but can also be kept in the cellar for more than 15 years.
Decorated with exceptional notes, the Cos d'Estournel 2010 reveals itself with a gourmet Nose and a generous Palate. Its serious and full tannic structure supports an intense bouquet of vibrant fruits, enhanced by remarkable freshness. Combining power and elegance, this Saint-Estèphe has all the makings of a great wine.
