The 20 hectares of Chateau Carlmagnus are planted in clay-limestone soil upon an important limestone plateau.
Vinification and aging
Once sorted, the grapes went through vinification without crushing in order to preserve the integrity of the fruit. Daily pump-overs and punch-downs were carried out. The wines were aged for 12 to 14 months, exclusively in oak barrels (30 to 40% new oak, depending on the quality of the tannins).
