The estate
Chateau Carlmagnus is located in the Fronsac appellation. Situated on the right bank of Bordeaux, this property offers wines in a style typical of their appellation.
The vineyard
The 20 hectares of Chateau Carlmagnus are planted in clay-limestone soil upon an important limestone plateau.
The winemaking
Sorting, not followed by crushing, in order to preserve the fruit. Daily pump-overs and punch-downs.
The aging
12 to 14 months in oak barrels (40 to 30% new oak, depending on the tannins).
The blend
Merlot (90%), cabernet franc (10%)
