Description
The estate
Château Talbot, 4th Cru Classé in Saint-Julien, is one of the Médoc's most emblematic wines. Acquired by Désiré Cordier in 1918, Château Talbot is now run by Nancy Bignon-Cordier and her husband, Jean-Paul Bignon.
The vineyard
Caillou Blanc 2022 is a Bordeaux Dry White wine made from vines that are an average of 45 years old. 5.2 hectares of Château Talbot are dedicated to making Caillou Blanc, the estate's white wine. The vines grow on gravelly Médoc terroir.
Winemaking and ageing
Hand-picked between 31 August and 5 September, the grapes were sorted on the vine and then vinified exclusively in barrels (40% of which are new). The wine was aged for 8 months on the lees with stirring.
Blend
Caillou Blanc 2022 from Château Talbot is a blend of Sauvignon Blanc (71%) and Sémillon (29%).
