Description
A Grand Vin in Red from Pessac-Leognan
The Chateau Baret 2018 is the Grand Vin of its estate, revealing all of the characteristics typical of the Pessac-Leognan appellation, south of Bordeaux.
A very old property, Chateau Baret stands as testament to a prestigious viticultural past. The first traces of the vineyard date back to the fourth century and the Lords of Baret. It was in 1867 that the Ballande family acquired the estate. The winery and the vineyard have undergone major renovations in 2015.
Produced by means of traditional Bordeaux winemaking, the Chateau Baret Rouge 2018 is made from a blend of Merlot (70%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (30%).
The aging takes place in French oak barrels, 20% of which are new, for a period of roughly 12 months.
Since 2015, many awards and medals have been awarded to Chateau Baret, confirming its place as an important reference of the Pessac-Leognan appellation.
