An Exceptional Speyside Single Malt with Unique Blends
Glenfiddich, a Pioneer of Scotch Single Malt
Founded in 1887 in Dufftown in Scotland’s Speyside, Glenfiddich remains one of the few single malt distilleries that is entirely family-owned. Owned by William Grant & Sons for over 135 years, this brand revolutionized the industry in the 1960s by popularizing the concept of single malt with its iconic triangular bottle. A pioneer in the category, Glenfiddich excels in the art of maturation in ex-bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks, using sophisticated blending techniques. This Speyside whisky from Scotland embodies the perfect balance between time-honored tradition and contemporary innovation.
Glenfiddich 40 Year Old, an Exceptional Technical Feat
This 18th and most recent re-release of Glenfiddich 40 Year Old to date showcases a revolutionary blending technique called “remnant vatting.” The Master Blender carefully marries individually hand-selected casks, matured in former bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks, with what remains from the previous 40-year-old vatting. This continuous process guarantees a minimum age of forty years and allows for a unique accumulation of aromas over the years.
Glenfiddich is the only Scotch single malt distillery in the industry to use this technique. The casks are carefully stored in Warehouse No. 8, where the distillery’s old whiskies are kept.
