Legado is a Douro wine destined to be the ideal expression of one man's dream.
Indeed, this Legado cuvée is a tribute to Fernando Guedes, at the head of the family wine company Sogrape, founded by his father, Fernando van Zeller Guedes, in 1942, and of which he was the Technical Director from 1956.
Fernando Guedes, passionate for winemaking, wanted to dignify through the wines of Sogrape both the know-how of his teams and the identity of an exceptional terroir of the Duriense, a Portuguese wine region recognized for the quality of its grapes.
Produced since 2008, Legado is a great Portuguese wine from the Quinta do Caêdo vineyard, owned by Sogrape since 1990, located in Ervedosa do Douro. Of the 24 hectares of vines that make up the estate, 8 hectares of a plot called "Vinha Velha" are dedicated to the production of this wine.
Located in the heart of a superb natural amphitheatre, this terroir, where more than 25 different grape varieties are grown, benefits from a western exposure and generous sunshine.
