The second wine of the prestigious Grand Cru Classe Chateau Lagrange, Les Fiefs de Lagrange has become known as a wine with its own personality, a sure bet from the Saint-Julien appellation, on the Left Bank of the Bordeaux region.
While the 2017 vintage was not an easy one, with periods of frost that did not spare the vineyard of Chateau Lagrange, the Les Fiefs de Lagrange 2017 has become one of the appellations most beautiful references.
Thanks to plenty of hard work in the vineyard (including a manual identification of vines harmed by the frost to varying degrees and a demanding onsite selection), the team at Chateau Lagrange managed to produce a wine that reveals the very best of this challenging vintage. Made with the same care as the Grand Vin of the property under the guidance of the experienced Eric Boissenot, the Les Fiefs de Lagrange 2017 suggests great success for this vintage.
Made from a blend containing almost equal parts Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon (respectively 50% and 47%), complemented by Petit Verdot (3%), the Les Fiefs de Lagrange 2017 offers fruity elegance in a wine bursting with freshness. With its fragrances of black fruits, delicious chocolate notes and delicate floral notes, the aromatic bouquet is full of charm. On the palate, this Saint-Julien reveals a great personality with plenty of energy, balancing its tannic structure with great flexibility. A delicious and refined St. Julien to be consumed in its youth or kept to evolve until 2020 to 2030.
