Description
Les Fiefs de Lagrange 2016: a well-balanced red wine from Saint-Julien
The second wine of Château Lagrange, Les Fiefs de Lagrange is a red wine produced in the Saint-Julien appellation. The 118 hectare vineyard is planted on the gravelly hillsides of the Garonne with silica-gravelly soils on clayey-limestone subsoils. The 2016 vintage of Les Fiefs de Lagrange is a blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 41% Merlot and 4% Petit Verdot.
The climatic conditions of the 2016 vintage were marked by a mild and rainy spring, which did not lead to early bud break. Flowering occurred at the best time, during a window of dry and sunny weather. The summer was warm and dry. The harvest took place from the 3rd to the 24th of October.
Dark red in color with shades of purple, the Les Fiefs de Lagrange 2016 reveals intense fruity fragrances (black cherries, blackcurrant cream) and spicy notes (licorice). Les Fiefs de Lagrange 2016 is a lively and fresh wine on the palate, dynamic and perfectly balanced.
