Chateau Lagrange 111-hectare vineyard -which only produces reds- is located on two rumps facing north and south. The 2008 Les Fiefs de Lagrange (Second Wine) is 57% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Merlot, and 14% Petit Verdot.
The vintage displays a shiny, mildly intense ruby colour. The nose exudes black fruits, cherry, and currant bud: a combination that creates pleasant freshness. Hints of spices (pepper, rose, cedar) and empyreumatic scents (blond tobacco and caramel) complement the fruit. The palate offers a lively and fresh attack with pronounced yet supple and silky tannins. This offering presents luscious fruits, as well as a spicy and distinguished retro-olfaction. This is an interesting Second Wine, with medium strength and some complexity.
