Decanter

This blend of 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Franc, aged partially in oak, presents an intense ruby-purple colour. The aromatic profile is peppery and spicy, with floral undertones of peony. On the palate, it is fresh and elegant, though it lacks a bit in concentration. Light tannins and good acidity make it pleasant and ready to drink.

Forward, fruity, and already fun to taste, this easy going gem sells for a song, and delivers its bright raspberry, and strawberry effortlessly. Drink from 2027-2032. 87-89 Pts

Le Figaro Vin

Juicy like a handful of small red berries, the nose unfolds towards softer, more floral aromas. Charming on the palate, it retains a fresh sensation, complemented by juicy notes of raspberry, wild strawberry and blood orange.

Vertdevin

The nose is gently velvety, with beautifully fine texture. It reveals notes of blackberry, black pepper and, more subtly, ripe wild berries, complemented by delicate hints of maceron and fine touches of clove. The palate is fresh and mineral, offering good definition, harmony, silkiness, energy and a long, stretched profile. On the palate, the wine expresses notes of juicy, fleshy blackcurrant and violet, with a lighter touch of small red berries, alongside hints of bergamot, juicy, fleshy red fruits, a touch of crushed blueberry, as well as fine notes of graphene and nutmeg, a subtle fresh/floral touch and a hint of cardamom. The tannins are supple, generous and precise.

Description

The structure and creaminess of a Montagne Saint-Émilion wine

The property

Coralie de Boüard and her husband Loïc Maillet acquired the Château Clos de Boüard in 2016, located in the satellite appellation Montagne Saint-Émilion. La Dame de Boüard is the second wine of the property.

The vineyard

Château Clos de Boüard oversees a vineyard covering an area of 30 hectares. Approximately 40 years old, the vines planted on south-facing clay-limestone slopes give birth to a great Montagne Saint-Émilion wine.

Vinification and aging

Manual harvest accompanied by a rigorous sorting. Pre-fermentation maceration at 8 -10 °C. Alcoholic fermentation. Maceration from 3 to 5 weeks. The aging lasts from 10 to 14 months in barrels (15% in new barrels and 15% in barrels of one wine).

Blend

La Dame de Boüard 2024 is the result of a blend of merlot (60%) and cabernet franc (40%).
