An exceptional vintage from Chateau Cote Montpezat, the Cuvee Compostelle 2017 promises to be one of the most beautiful references to a delicate vintage from the Castillon Cotes de Bordeaux appellation.
This wine takes its name from a well located near the chateau, and the story says it was used to give water to thirsty pilgrims en route to Compostela. With 30 hectares of vines planted on a rare clay-limestone soil, Chateau Cote Montpezat promises to be one of the up-and-coming estates in the Castillon Cotes de Bordeaux appellation on the Right Bank of the Bordeaux region.
The blend is largely dominated by Merlot (80%) and the addition of Cabernet Franc (20%). The Cuvee Compostelle 2017 from Chateau Cote Montpezat reveals all the typicity of its exceptional terroir, displaying a profile worthy of its vintage. There is concentration and aromatic freshness on the nose, along with finesse, structure and elegance on the palate. The Cuvee Compostelle 2017 is definitely a must from the Castillon Cotes de Bordeaux appellation.
