Description
An elegant Lalande de Pomerol wine with a velvety texture
The estate
The Château Siaurac, established in 1832, is a jewel of the Lalande de Pomerol appellation on the right bank of Bordeaux. The estate is now managed by Terroirs de Suravenir, with Elodie Kaminski as technical director. The vineyard, certified HVE4, produces wines noted for their elegance.
The vineyard
Located in the commune of Néac in Lalande de Pomerol, the vineyard of Château Siaurac spans 45.15 hectares divided into 43 distinct plots. The vines, averaging 35 years of age, thrive on a varied terroir composed of gravel, deep clay, and clayey sands, imparting the wine with its characteristic complexity and finesse.
The vintage
The year 2024 was marked by rainfall 60% above the ten-year average and a mild winter with abundant rains. These conditions favored the development of downy mildew. The vegetative cycle began with early bud break, followed by slowed growth from mid-April to late May, a late veraison, and a slow maturation, resulting in an extended vegetative cycle.
Winemaking and aging
Aging for 14 months, divided between 62% in concrete vats, 35% in barrels, and 3% in amphorae.
Blend
The blend of Château Siaurac 2024 comprises 53% merlot, 30% cabernet franc, and 17% malbec.
