The estate

Born from the family legacy of Château Lassus, Château Le Reysse traces its origins back to 1983. Having received two plots of land from his father, one of which was named Le Reysse, Patrick Chaumont decided in 1983 to establish the eponymous estate, vinifying this plot separately from those dedicated to the production of Château Lassus. In 2010, the Paeffgen family acquired both châteaux and expanded the estate in 2011 with the purchase of Vignoble Boyer (Châteaux Clos du Moulin and Moulin de l'Estagne).

The vineyard

Château Le Reysse 2019 is a Médoc wine produced from a 4.5-hectare vineyard located in the commune of Bégadan. Farmed with deep respect for the environment, the vines, over 50 years old, are planted on soils composed of gravel and limestone.

Winemaking and aging

The grapes, partly hand-harvested, undergo a 35-day fermentation with temperature control. Aging lasts 24 months in new barrels made from oak sourced from the Tronçais forest (Allier).

Appearance
The color displays a beautiful violet hue with purple highlights.

Nose
Intense, the nose exudes fruity notes (cherries, prunes) and mineral notes (graphite), along with a touch of peppery mint.

Palate
The palate charms with the finesse of its velvety tannins, its smooth yet lively notes, and its fruity, lingering finish.
