For almost six centuries, Chateau La Croix de Gay has overlooked an exceptional terroir in Pomerol. The Raynaud-Lebreton family, now at the helm of the estate, have been involved with winemaking since 1772 and have been present in Pomerol since 1447.
The Chateau La Croix de Gay vineyard covers 4.2 hectares in Gunzian gravel and Mindel gravel on clay.
The winemaking and aging
Manually harvested, the grapes are subject to vatting for 34 to 35 days. Malolactic fermentation is partially carried out in barrels. Aging occurs in barrels (50% new barrels, 50% barrels of one previous wine).
The 2020 Chateau La Croix de Gay seduces with its structure, density and aromatic richness, which is marked by intense aromas of fruit.
