Of great class and density, with polished tannins and a long, fruity finish; wonderfully fruity and precise.

Well-steeped plum, fig and boysenberry fruit is richly layered, supported by embedded brambly grip and backed by waves of ganache and sweet tobacco on the finish. This has plenty of energy to carry it in the cellar while it rounds into form. Best from 2023 through 2038. 18,333 cases made.

Fine, fragrant nose and succulent fruit. It has a lovely texture, rounded tannins and fresh finish, with more finesse than in past years.

What a gorgeous and supple young wine with ultra-fine tannins and vivid acidity. Medium to full body and direct, driven tannins. Shows such beauty. Better in 2020 but already beautiful.

The 2015 Gloria is even better than it was from barrel. Dark, voluptuous and intense, the 2015 hits all the right notes. Black cherry, plum, spice, gravel, tobacco and cedar give the wine much of its complexity and nuance. Gloria is one of the very finest values readers will come across in Bordeaux. Tasted two times.

This is just a terrific wine and value. Elegant, refined, fresh, lively, with an earthy, ripe, dark red-berry character that grows and expands in the glass and on your palate. Medium to full-bodied, this will be just great with about 5 years in the bottle.

Dark garnet, fairly dense at the core, with a ruby rim. Clearly floral notes emerge in a gently cool-tinged bouquet. On the palate, leafy nuances carried by the extract, with barely ripe fruit at play.

This style of vintage really suits Gloria, with its cheerful, exuberant character, silky tannins and clear power. You'll find plenty of precision and bite through the blueberry and cassis fruits, excellent quality, bright, bristling and full of life. The signature of St Julien comes through, and this is softly spoken but with quiet confidence, layering on slate and gunsmoke edges on the finish. 40% new oak, harvest September 21 to October 7. The 2015 Gloria is medium to deep garnet in color. It has a nose of baked plums and boysenberries with an undercurrent of chocolate-covered cherries and spice cake, plus a hint of Sichuan pepper. Medium-bodied, the palate is plush and juicy with plenty of freshness and a peppery kick to the finish.

A wine that is at once opulent, generous and full-bodied, the 2015 is already showing beautifully and is very seductive. It will nevertheless go very far.

Gloria is an extremely consistent wine and it did not miss its opportunity in 2015. The color is dark with violet highlights and a beautiful smoky, spicy nose. The wine is elegant, long, full, dense, very successful, with beautifully ripe grapes. One to watch.

Garnet red with purplish highlights. A delicate, elegant bouquet marked by notes of cherries and blackberries. An elegant, balanced, and slightly creamy attack. On the palate, the wine shows freshness and a juicy character. The tannins emerge fairly quickly, from mid-palate onward, with an elegant grain. They align with the structure and give this wine a promising, youthful character.

The nose is juicy and fruity, with notes of crushed raspberry and blackberry, along with subtle hints of blackcurrant and wild strawberry. The palate is fruity, gourmand, fresh, and racy, offering slight tension and minerality. On the palate, this wine reveals notes of raspberry and blackberry, and, more subtly, strawberry, with touches of blackcurrant, a discreet hint of oak, and a delicate touch of tobacco. The tannins are fine and slightly firm. Good length.

Dark color, with good intensity. Lovely moderately aromatic, toasty nose. A soft, smooth, perfumed, pleasant palate, lacking a bit of punch in its overall profile, like the 2014, for example. Normal length.

A blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot and the balance Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot that saw 40% new oak, the 2015 Château Gloria is a beautiful Saint-Julien that’s well worth seeking out and drinking. Blackcurrants, damp earth, spicy oak and hints of leafy herbs all flow to an upfront, elegant, yet fruit forward 2015 that has sweet tannin and good freshness. It’s no doubt a charmer, yet will see its 20th birthday in fine form. Tasted twice.

One of two classed-growth estates in Saint-Julien owned by the descendants of Henri Martin, this estate has been renovated and the results show in this well-crafted wine. Ripe tannins are balanced by smoky blackberry fruits and pure, clean acidity. Drink the wine from 2024.
