Decanter

Some exotic spices on the nose, five spice and all spice. Clear on the palate, a lovely lightness with a well-worked, smooth texture. High-toned, the cherry and strawberry have a firm edge, the tannins giving quite a grip even though they’re fine and well integrated. Unfussy but well presented with a fresh, minty, aerial finish.

The estate

Chateau Francs Magnus is a 13-hectare property located on a limestone plateau.

Vinification and aging

The grapes selected for the elaboration of this Bordeaux Superieur wine are rigorously sorted. No crushing. Vinification in stainless steel and concrete vats with daily pumping over and punching down. Aged in vats (70%) and in second fill barrels (30%).

The blend

Chateau Franc Magnus 2021 comprises a blend of Merlot (90%) and Cabernet Franc (10%)
